Friday bears down on us yet again. Another week down and now we are off for 4 whole days as we venture south to ASNE Day 2001 in Crystal City. Winch painting, a trip to Home Depot for stainless bolts, and a whole lot of terrace volleyball carried the afternoon. Ship design work and a lame attempt at laundry provided the evening's entertainment.

A LONG day here - 5 hours of class, then 2 hours of lab, followed by a ton of work and then Dalai Lama. But, the sun shines down on us and waterskiing season must be just around the corner.

The first game of the sophomore Webb Baseball Team's season took place on Mitchell Field near Hofstra. In a 7-9 loss, the Clippers fell to the Athletics of the 30+ Stam Usual League of Long Island. Apart from that, another afternoon of winch work and just two hours of class mark the middle of this week.

Returning from Spring Break is always rough, but even more so this semester in light of the issue of midterm grades (gulp) and the loss in the first round of my pride and joy from the Motor City - the Red Wings stumble out of the playoffs in six games. Baseball game tomorrow, though, and Dalai Lama this evening to help ease the pain.

Zero hour comes tonight at 2359:59. Heat balance, done or not, is due at that time. Fortunately, my balance is complete: written, calculated, bound and ready for submission. As if to rub it in that Steam has been our lives for 3 weeks, tomorrow is the Steam midterm. If it goes as well as the NA 4 midterm went, we have no cause for concern. However, there is always some element of uncertainty when taking a big test, so tonight the 02 Class will be hitting the books - but only after HB is done.

Heat balance claims yet another victim! An unidentifiable weekend succumbed to M.E. V this semester as 12 iterations and countless pages of figures, tables, and worksheets overran Saturday and buried Sunday. Authorities have no leads or MO at this early stage. Anyone wishing to donate a replacement weekend to the Webb 2002 Class should call the Dean immediately.

Founder's Day. A long afternoon of manual labor installing the waterfront winch, including pouring some concrete, digging some trench, cutting some asphalt, and absorbing a whole lot of rain. After 4 hours, though, the winch is ready to be installed. After a nice hot shower was dinner and guest speaker. Now I've moved on to a state of vegetation. Fridays rule.

Another Dalai Lama loss tonight....booo. Great day, so ultimate in the afternoon and 2 meals outside. And, for extra fun, a watermain broke on campus leaving us without water for about 3 hours this afternoon. Makes you appreciate how necessary water is.

A late night of heat balance iterations....perhaps the first in a string of such evenings? Also today: got prepped and ready for Friday's beach winch installation, worked up a storm in the EE lab, kicked an NA4 midterm, and ate three squares. Such a glorious day - spring must be around the corner.

Blogger's back after a week hiatus, right in time for Dalai Lama season. Tonight Team 4 played it's opening game against Team 3, and I am here to tell you that it was not pretty. The final of 1-5 really doesn't cover the trouncing we endured. Wheeeew! At least we can bury our heads in NA 4 (Structures) for tomorrow's midterm.

We sprang forward over the weekend, but nobody in the Junior class noticed much. Spent a majority of the weekend in the library, working feverishly. Outside the weather was lousy, so it was easy to stay in and chalk one up for productivity.
